Is it worth buying a scoobymania backbox or a scoobtsport backbox?
pro's and con's !
my car is booked in at scoobymania on wednesday to sort out a couple of gauges, is it worth having a backbox fitted or going down the road to TSL and having a scoobysport box fitted instead.
thanks in advanvce

Performance wise I doubt theres anything in it where the 2 backboxes mentioned are concerned, so it really is a matter of what you prefer in terms of looks and noise. When you go down to SM I'm sure there will a few scoobs there with a multitude of different exhausts on. Have a listen and decide!
The only other thing to consider is your next exhaust mod! Would you want a 3" full system, a 2.5" full system or a combination of the two? now theres a can of worms...
SM is 3", SS is 2.5" - both will fit on the OE centre section no probs.
I've got a SM one and I love it

I've got a Scoobysport system and it's the dog's, um, thingies.
But I agree that really it's all down to taste and location. I'm sure the SM one has it's own ups and downs.
That probably doesn't help much, does it...

Have had both. Like both.
At teh mo I prefer the sm, but that is just me.
Note wise there inch makes it a bit deeper. Neither are LOUD on their own.
prefer looks of SM cos 22B rump has a cut out for exhaust pipe which teh scoobysport wasnt big enough to fill but the scoobymania is. It is also cut back at the same angle as the bumper so looks great sitting in the correct place. It is also a larger diameter tail pipe which is good as the ss was looking a little weak on the fat rear end. SM also has a purposeful perforated lining inside the back box which looks cool. Build quality is also fantastic.
3 inch doesnt matter if down stream of a 2.5. Strictly speaking it will still create pressure wave reflection but i wouldnt worry to much about that, it doesnt actually create a step which hinders the gas in the same way that a 3 inch into 2.5 would.
Best reason for owning one os individuality. I think the ss is a victim of its own success in that they are just too common. There is no question that the scoobysport exhaust is a great bit of kit.
