Default Gearchange issue?

This afternoon I noticed my gear lever is now only sprung-loaded on the right side...... (Subaru quickshift)

I had the gaiter off but can't see anything.... anyone help as it's making down shifting a slight pain...

Thanks in advance

There is a centering spring under the lever to the side of the gearbox that bias' the lever to 3rd/4th plane
They can corrode/fall off. You need to get right under the car to check. It is connected to a 60mm or so washer that traps the large stabilising rubber bush on the box just where the prop shaft enters the box.

If that is in place then i 'think' ie not sure that there are 2 detent springs/***** that are sometime liable to break so loosing the precision of the box.

Best guy to ask/fix it is David at Welcome to the API website
