Default Crunch

Hey guys my v5 type R has developed a slight crunch when giving it big ones, if say i give it beans in 2nd then try and grab any other gear it crunches a bit, it doesnt do this if i let the clutch out in betweeen changes.

Clutch is about a month old

Any ideas?

your synchros are getting warn and they can not spin up the next gear fast enough when you are gunning it. Try chaning slower or continue to double de-clutch like you have been doing.

The only other quick fix is to change the gear oil to something really thick like Redline heavy shock proof gear oil, about £15 a litre and you need 3.5 litres. This will help the synchos out but will not solve the cause of the problem, only a box refurb will sort it out permenantly.

Ross - might be able to help you out on that.

My STi6 RA box is getting a PPG kit on it but has only done 32K.

Might be able to sort out a P/X on yours against mine as the PPG kit has all the synchro's etc replaced on it.

Let me know what you think.

Deffo something to consider Russell yeh, pm me the costs that will be involved mate, see if its within budget
