Fitting downpipes

I'm wondering if there's a 'guide' out there for fitting downpipes somewhere? Just things to look out for, that sort of thing. As usual, I'm sure I've seen one before but I'm buggered if I can find it again...

I'm usually pretty happy having a bash at this sort of thing myself, but this is the stuff I was a little worried about...
