Default Gear Box or Clutch Problem ?

I recently had all the oil's changed in my 95 STI RA. This included Gear Box oil, diff oil, engine oil. After around 3 days of getting the car back I started to find it difficult to get into first gear and also into reverse. I can no longer get the car straight into reverse without first putting it into first then into reverse, or putting it in reverse with out the car running. The gear changes now all feel notchy. When I accelarate the car is reaching full boost however not going as it should be, I think this is due to clutch slip ? How ever i had a new clutch and lightend fly wheel fitted around 3 weeks ago ! Any help would be very much appriciated.

The gear selection problem sounds like the clutch is dragging, ie not disengaging fully. This in itself would not cause any apparent lack of power, but as you say, the clutch slipping, would give this effect. I think perhaps bleeding the system and checking the operation of master and slave cylinders, would the first exercise.

Thanks for that. I really hope it is the clutch. My mechanical knowledge is not really up to checking the system !! However iam taking the car down to scooby clinic on wednesday to get it checked.

Hey AideRA,

If you are still watching this thread, what was it in the end?
