Default MY95 Diff whine ??

Hello people,

Got a my95 wrx , and when driving the rear diff is whining when evar i let off the accelerator ??

Got hold a diff from a 98-99 uk car but the drive shafts dont seem to fit although the bloke i got it from said they didnt change the design of the diff so it will fit ??

Im stumped , do i need a new my 95 diff , or get brutal with the shafts so they "pop" in ??

Plz help

ive got the same issues at the minute, my guess would be that the diff from the later car will be different as they should just slide into place.

how much did you pay for the diff if you dont mind me asking, reason being ive just priced one up.

pm me if you want.

also worth checking the power steering fluid level

sounds remarkably similar to diff whine and only costs £5 to fix
