Im ripping out the gearbox on my 95 turbo wagon tomorrow, its on its way out. I havnt called Subaru yet but I was just wondering if anyone knew offhand how much a complete set of bearings for it will be. I may replace 1st and 2nd syncro hubs aswell while Im at it allthough there doesnt seem to be any problems with them but like I say the box isnt out yet and stripped for inspection so Im not ruling them out.

 

I called my local Subaru dealer and they are saying for a complete set of box bearings including the needle roller ones its £500 and for just the 3 main bearings its £300. Does this sound right or can anyone suggest anywhere else to get them possibly uprated.

 

I now have the box out and stripped, Its absolutely shagged. The main shaft pinion is scrap and the centre diff pin is mangled and insted of being a 12mm hole is now an elongated 30 mm hole. So I need a new box, anyone know of a good one I could have?
