silkolene silktran syn 5 for sure had 5th gear start crunching to the point where i couldnt get it in 5th on the way to rcms for a service last yr anyway couldnt afford to get it done there and then and olly were booked up, car were in for big service cambelt and all oils changed anyway drove bk with silkolene in as if the box were done-couldnt believe the difference an oil makes wouldnt put anything else in now. if youre in any doubt quaife recommends it-nuff said http://www.quaife.co.uk/catalogue/page87.htm

These boxes have a mind of their own! I put Silkolene Syn5 in my 99my box and it CAUSED crunching from 4th to 5th! Refilled with Castrol Syntrax (Driveline) and the crunch was cured! A number of people have had similar experiences when using fully synthetic gear oil.
