Question

Does anybody know how hard it would be to convert the STi automatic to a manual?

Is it possible? any idea of cost?

Thanks

Niggy,

Not cheap - the 4WD system is different as well (computer controlled - like a Porsche 959... )

Do a search on I-Club (U.S. BBS) as there are a few people over there who have converted: http://www.i-club.com

Thanks

Gavin

You need to replace the ECU, get a clutch pedal, master cylinder and slave cylinder, pressure plate, clutch plate, if you are lucky your will be able to use your existing flywheel. Then you need to get an brake pedal and get someone to fit the pedals, all the hydraulic hoses and lastly the gearbox, being careful to get the same ratio as you current rear diff and a manual gearbox drive shaft.

Unhappy

Ah well it was worth a try... I could always wait until there are a few more of the new manual STI Forester... or get a Skyline

not really.

Depends how much money you have!!

Or if you can get each of the parts I mentioned cheaply.

I am in New Zealand, and you would be looking at about

$2000 - $3000 dollars for the parts from a wrecker plus fitting.
