Default oil.... synthetic/semi synthetic?

ok guys... dueto have my scooby 2000 turbo (W reg) serviced by a mate.... have heard numerous refferals.... but what dyu guys reckon when it comes to oil.... fully synthetic... or semi synthetic oil????

Buy the most expensive Oil you can find ... apparently Subaru know absolutely nowt about the oil thats best for their engines, but the ***** on here know what to use!

Subaru say Semi ..... so why not ignore them and buy Fully - sod the cost, it must be better.
