Question newage STi diff into 95RA

as title, i have bought a jdm 6 speed box for my 1995 impreza STi RA. I have searched the forum and found out that box will go straight on without issues but will my matching newage 3.9 diff be a straight swap for existing?

Looking at new diff (6 speed version) it looks same length but taller??? will it fit an does anyone know if my driveshafts will fit?

thanks

Simon

Are you talking about front or rear diff? Your car already has a 3.9 rear diff.

I have not heard of the front driveshafts not fitting.

I have a MY95 STI RA, my transmission code on the nsf suspension strut says mine is 3.9, I suggest you check yours!

In a word - No ! the New age 3.9 will be the R180 size which half as big again as the diff you have. This means to get the R180 in the car you'll need the corresponding driveshafts and the hubs and then the brakes etc., etc..

it'll be much easier to buy a 3.9 rear diff of the R160 size, which will fit everything you already have on the rear axle. and will connect to the new prop.

Good luck - call me if you need more help.
