Default which clutch/flywheel to use

Its clutch time again i have a 92 leggy turbo pretty std but does a lot of towing and clutches dont last that long wife drives too and she is not the best at clutch control

I know i am going to need a flywheel too so was wondering if i can fit a wrx clutch and flywheel as the plate is bigger i know its not much but every little helps!

any of you leggy drivers know if it all fits or am i stuck with std one?

If you do a lot of towing do not be suckered into fitting a lighter flywheel. For towing you are best to stay with the O/E item.

Our Exedy performance 230mm as per the current Group buy will be perfect for you.

I agree with Harvey a lightened flywheel won't be great on a tow car. Yours will probably need a skim but no serious amount needs taking off usually.

i doubt a skim will do my flywheel to be honest it has been slipping bad on occasions and from provious experience i would rather just change the flywheel !

the clutch has prety much zero travel now bit like an auto let it up and go no bitting point lol

i will need a new flywheel for the 230mm clutch anyway will i not as the leggy clutch is smaller so will the impreza one fit ok ?

Mostly we can save flywheels, We put them on our head planer and get through the work hardened metal thataway. They can't be skimmed on a lathe as the hard part prevents the lathe tool from getting a bite.

In any case our flywheels either skimmed or lightweight are sold exchange so the problem will be ours anyway.

The 230mm clutch will fit on any turbo lmpreza or turbo Legacy flywheel.

Call me if I can help David APi

Sorry Sam, we only speak Japanese here. There is a BMW guy in North Harrow called Corry who will probably do that for you at sensible money.

You'll find Corry in Ex and Mart under cylinder head suppliers in the spares and accessories division of say Mitsubishi parts.

Give it a go, try to talk to Neil and tell him David at APi sent you.

Good Luck David
