Default What exhaust is best ???

Hi all i recently braught an 03 plate wrx which was totally standard , As i am a new boy in the world of scoobies i,m after advice on wots good and wots not .
I want to upgrade the exhaust as that too is standard and i just dont know what one to go for , i,m looking for one which isnt really really loud but still have a great rumble to it , and if there is a clear favorite does it increase the bhp aswell ? ( i hope so ). i look forward to some great advice on such a superb car . cheers, Dave.

I would try and listen to some before buying. I've got a miltek back box which I felt was a little quiet and at the moment I have a H&S JDM style style back box which if I'm honest is too loud. I like it but sometimes its just too much (for me anyway)

Think the ninja and Blitz are louder again.

Oh, and make sure its fitted properly, the local clowns that fitted the H&S back box didn't hang it properly and its melted a nice hole in the bumper

as above try before u buy. i have ninja full system but dont think its loud nice rumble though. sound files are not a good measure. if u turn out like most scooby owners u will want it louder, faster, lower etc. etc. take ur time mate. bob.

My exhaust did the same thing, I had to use a bigger rubber bung to hang the backbox and push it away from the rear bumper, had no problems since.

Was speaking to a bloke at the petrol station who had a Blitz Nur spec exhaust on his scoob, And when he pulled off I was a bit disappointed, as I thought it would be really loud, Next time I saw him at the petrol station I said " I thought those Blitz nurspecs where really loud", He then demonstrated by taking the bung out of it, Bloody hell the whole petrol station started rattling.

come over to www.sox-japoc.co.uk/forum weve got a few variations over there

from standard to...well...not so standard but as BrynO said......there is no complete "best" for all applications, what works for one may not work for another...

I have heard really good things about the TSL-Motorsport "FIRESTORM" backbox and will be getting one after xmas. I'm also gonna get there thundercat sports cat downpipe aswell to replace my decatted magnex system which sounds quite timid. I heard someone with one the other day and it does sound really good.

If you have a full de-cat the Blitz is very loud even with the bung. With the bung removed it is INSANE.
