Does the use of a paddle clutch put extra strain on the gearbox? my new one has a sprung plate(?) so id hope that it would slip a tiny bit?

mainly because it cost half of the organic!
, and to be honest its just a bit of an experiment. I wanted something that will hold 400lbft without complaint. (which i appreciate some of the more expensive organics can).....but i havent got X-hundred quid each time, so i thought id give this a shot.....if its pants, then i havent wasted "that" much cash.....however, if its not, then i may have saved myself a few beans...
does that make sense?

I had a paddle in my hill climb 911.
The centre was sprung to cussion the judder and ****** engagement and road driving shunting you get in general in the transmission.
A paddle without springs will tear a roadgoing box apart as well as tire the driver out on the road.
The springs have nothing to do with slipping, just adds refinement to a very vicious clutch.
I took the paddle out of the 911 and fitted a stock Sach clutch and never looked back
but it doesn't have 400 lb ft!
Graham.

For a road car, go for an organic clutch that is up to the job. An AP Organic uprated is such a clutch for that torque from personal experience. There are other alternatives for less money, some from the USA.
