Default Gearbox notchy when warm not cold??

Hi all,

Just noticed recently that my gearbox of MY98 Uk turbo seems a little notchy after its warmed up. This is the complete opposite of what I normally expect. Most other cars i've had are notchy when the oil is cold. The notcyness lessens as the oil thins down when its warmed up.

The 3 things that come to mind are:

1. Gearbox likes thicker oil, ie, prefers the thicker cold oil.
2. Clutch needs bleeding.
3. Ferked syncros - though unlikely because its not notchy all the time.

Not sure what oils in the gearbox, but I think its Catrol Syntrax (I can check when I get home).

Any thoughts,

Cheers,

Wayne.
