If they are both uk cars then its just a straight swap.
If one is an import you will have to change the rear diff as well which is still fairly straight forward

ok, cheers im new to this, so identicle gearboxes? and the ratios should be the same? i just dont want to end up with something that doesnt fit. cheers

yep only thing different is the new box will have more holes in the bell-housing than the box you remove, don't worry just use the std 4 that line up..............

And you will lose 1 bolt fixing for the starter motor, but I wouldnt worry about it.
I've had a few running for some time now with only one starter bolt, and never had a problem.
