As title, twin scroll turbo model, came with the sticky RE070s, quick steering rack...
What are the differences between this and the Spec C apart from equipment, VF37 instead of VF36?
Are the heads big port as Spec C?
As I understand it the pistons are hypereutectic on the V8, forged on the V7, but the heads are better on the V8?
Was there a change to bigger hubs and wider track for a later version - ie 05 with the wider rear arch?

The MY05 car has a wider track and better engine breathing, plus parts of the spec c suspension components (wishbones etc, not springs though afaik)
The GL has a different geometry to the MY05 and Spec C, the MY05 being the same as the MY03> spec c, the 05 has better engine breathing, a G sensor (note sensor not control) which passes more info back to the A-DCCD.
Only the Spec C had the quick rack steering, lightweight BBS alloys as standard, but engine wise compared to the GL it was similar apart from the turbo and oil cooler.

My GL (MY03) had the quik rack, same engine, same gearbox/dccda, HID lights, rear tints all as std. Spec c had different suspension parts and no trim. VF36 turbo was the only engine difference, ecu maps identical apart from wastegate solenoid for obvious reasons. BBS alloys were optional for mine. Water spray tank is under bonnet (8 litres) as opposed to in the boost on spec c. No oil cooler on GL.

Bob, according to the jap brochure (sp) the drivers pack (quick rack steering, Bridgestone RE070's with the BBS lightweight alloys and A-DCCD) was an optional extra on the GL, though most had it, ive seen JDM MY03's without it.

Apart from the weight saving differences under the bonnet the Spec C has different water pump, radiator, oil cooler, fuel pump assembly, transmission cooler, powersteering cooling, powersteering pump (although MY05 cars now have this). Spec C's also have a different part number for the heads. MY05+JDM cars run 235 RE070 tyres
John if your in a position to afford to I would look at the MY06 Spec C or MY05 WR Ltd Spec C as these cover all the bases

I wish
They are Black versions of the STI seats the same that were in the 2003 Limited Spec C, Forester STI and the MY05 Type RA
The MY05+ cars have a diffferent intercooler and pipework

Thanks all.
If I wanted to fit my GT30R rotated kit to a car with twin scroll headers, could I fit my uppipe which has the standard 2 bolt flange at the collector onto the twin scroll headers or would I put my HKS headers on if they would fit to the heads?
It would be appealing to have a manifold that had original heat shielding so that it didn't steam on wet/cold mornings (even though it is painted and wrapped again with foil), and as far as I know the OEM twin scroll manifold should flow well?
Or has anyone come up with a new uppipe that goes into an OEM twin scroll manifold to fit a full Garrett - ie Garrett exhaust housing?

Hi John, you'd need to get a custom up pipe made there isn't anyone doing a bolt on kit yet, isn't to tricky though. Tomei do a set of tuned headers but I have not seen them tested, the std JDM headers are very good.
