Default GEARBOX !!! , again ,P1,STi5,STi6

running 347.7 bhp and 332 lbs/ft torque through a standard UK gearbox
for the time being anyway . lol .

been advised to overfill the oil by 0.5 litre,so i changed it this morning and the rear diff, put in about 4.2 - 4.3 litres in gear box

ive been advised that a suitable box would be 1 from an sti v5/v6 SALOON
are these the same as the P1 uses ? i know id need the rear diff as well, but just wondered about the box types.
i dont wanna go 6-speed as im using it for 0-60s and quarter miles and the extra gear-change would slow it down . . .
and i cant have the typeR box cuz of the DCCD so it has to be the saloon , but iirc the P1 doesnt have DCCD,so are the 3 mentioned all the same ?

cheers in advance

STI V5
STI V6
P1

All are different boxes. P1 ratios are longer for the UK roads.

You can use a DCCD box and it will be locked with a bias towards the rear wheels.

If you are using the car for drag racing then it will only be a matter of time before they let go too.

Better off putting an uprated gearset in your car. Speak to Paul @ Zen Performance (Pavlo) or Mark @ Lateral Performance.

What box is in an MY98 WRX then? I know the gearing is shorter but is it the same as an STI box?
