the front diff is located inside the gearbox casing and shares the oil with the g/box...............

this applies to all manuals 5/6 speed...............if its an 'auto' then a seperate item in the same location but with its own oil casing!!

front diff and centre diff are in the gear box. front diff being at the front of the box in line with the drive shafts, and is oiled from the gearbox oil. Centre diff is in the last 1/3 of the gearbox.

So does the (UK) STI8 have a different type of front Diff?
Didn't a lot of people complain about the handling on the STI because of the Diff?? Or am I way off
