Headers on a MY98??
MY98
Full decat
Blitz EBC
Forge recirc D/V
K&N panel filter
HKS FCD
Walbro 255 pump
Before the FCD and EBC, and running about 1.1 bar boost (using a Dawes type controller) it was 245bhp.
Squeezed that up to 1.35 bar, so I'd guess a bit more power now (255 maybe?)
It certainly feels more powerful!!
My questions:
Can I fit a better induction kit and headers without sorting out the ECU?
Do I need to worry about re-map (not really feasible on a MY98) for these mods?
A few people said the induction kit shouldn't be a problem............open to more info.
Rich Wild has advised before.....thanks Rich.......I've basically forgotten what you said!! DOH!!
Typical.....I buy a MY98 and it is THE only year which causes headaches for mods!!!!!
Cheers in advance.

I'd get a mappable ecu as it looks like you will be adding to the mod list - that way you can get the best from what you've got, and adjust as you add. Also get knocklink/AFR for peace of mind.

Sorry.....forgot the Knocklink off the list.....already got one fitted.
I'm thinking......"is it worth the hassle"
and......"should I just leave it as it is and save up for a newer Sti?"
The clutch has started to slip if I use "level 3" boost on the Spec-S, so I know more expense is just around the corner....before any further mods!!
(Scooby Shootout to thank for this)

I have a MY97 and just got an Apexi PowerFC of ebay for £255 - not a lot really.
I'm running a TD05 on the standard ECU (only @12psi mind) and seems to be coping fine according to the gauges.
