Question Crunch going into 5th Gear... wheres the magic nut

I know there are a few threads on this, but, what I want to know is the 5th gear nut, is it accessable, and how do I get there, does the car need to be on a ramp, or can I do it from axle stands.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated before I think about a recon/replacement.

Cheers

depends how far of the ground you can get the car but basicly remove the prop shaft and remove the rear section of the gear box ie output shaft housing and selector shaft housing from ther you can see the nut which if you are lucky will be loose oh bye the way drain the oil
