Question How many DBs is a Blitz Nur Spec 'R'?

Was thinking of going to Bedford Autodrome for a trackday and was wondering whether I would pass the noise limits (101db)

3" Turbo-back exhaust with res centre and Nur Spec R backbox. Also have gruppe-s headers.

Any ideas on noise levels on the above setup?

Personally wouldnt bother wasting the petrol
to get there, unless you fit another back box.

You will be way over the noise limit i would think.

@ Paul

I have a bung which may help a little?

Changing the backbox will be a PITA as the whole system is slip jointed and not many bb are.

Will have to give it a miss unless someone can say they have got away with a Blitz and a bung @bedford.

I went on a track day recently at Bedford and although I didn't go on track in my car I went through the tests anyway, just out of interest .......and future refrence

I passed both the static and drive-by tests at Bedford, BUT, I only had the Blitz NUR Spec back-box and not the NUR Spec 'R'. I was quite a way under on the drive-by. I think it was about 74dB and the limit is something like 87.5dB.

I know this doesn't help much but I don't know how much difference the bung makes, whether it brings it back down to NUR Spec noise levels.

Well the actual bb on mine started off as Nur Spec. The only difference between the Nur Spec and Nur Spec R being the Nur Spec tapers to 2.5" at connecting end and the Nur Spec R stays 3". Thats according to Blitz UK when I contacted them last year.

Mine has been modified so it is 3" at connecting end (therefore eliminating any 2.5" section).

Most of them!

I'm not 100% sure of the exact systems but I think most, if not all, the cars with full de-cats failed, even with bungs. A couple had TSL Firestorm Backboxes with full de-cat, not sure what the others had.

I will see if I can contact Tiny (ESC/SIDC Organiser) I think he made a note of what most people were running with and the dB levels.
