Question leaking crank case

Hi all

Owned a scooby for a week and alas major surgery is needed already problem is that there seems to be a crack in the crank and no compression on one of the pistons on turnover. At a specialist garage and they shook their heads so not a good sign, was wondering if anybody else had experienced a similar problem and what became of their car eg fixable or not, new engine needed etc

mine is a uk spec 1999 t plate (classic shape) turbo 2000 saloon

any info appreciated

oh dear a 99my thats eaten a piston i dare say looks like you may need a new short motor and a ecu rewrite if youve only owned it for a week and have bought it from a dealer then they should put the fault right what does the garage that you took it to specialise in ?

the garage is called clive atthowe, all the scoobycity boys use him apparently, specialises in engine diagnostics and rolling road tuning i think although they will probably be able to do this job (if i'm lucky).

you ever had anything similar happen and how much did it cost to put right?
