It's your clutch thats bu66ered mate!!

Clutch is slipping causing the revs to rise, and fall with no apparent change in road speed!?

Exclamation similar issue....

hi people, nice to be a part of this forum...

im having a similar issue in my 2002 wrx, car drives as it should until i floor it and the turbo kicks in around 3000 revs..... shoots up to 5000 revs then goes back down to 3000 then goes up as it should ,its like its slipping then its ok...every other aspect of driving is fine, doesn't slip normally, only when turbo kicks in

Is this 100% the clutch? as i don't want to get a new clutch fitted and still have this issue.

Ive been told its either:

  • Clutch slipping
  • boost leak somewhere (the only thing changed was an aftermarket BOV was added then swapped back for the original as it was limiting my power, so maybe a leak around there?)
  • slip diff issue??? (apparently if i put the car on a ramp and put into gear to see if all wheels spinning together??)
the only other thing wrong with the car is its misfiring on cylinder 4 but that wouldn't cause this issue...

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks people
