Question De Cat Confusing..............

hi,, recently purchased a MY05 sti, because the car is an EU import i am restricted under warranty if i was to fit ppp so i thought about a decat and when it goes for service just switch them round so no one knows,,im not very good when it comes to the technical side of thing so could you help me guys n tell me what the deal is with the decat thing and does it go straight on without messing the ecu, and how much of power increase does it give...pleeez help,many thanks..

Yes it does go straight on, Can be awkward to fit on your Back, Can potentially make the car run lean & increase boost spikes due to better flow.
May give you Plus 15Bhp maybe less varys from car to car.
Afew monitoring devices would help to see if the above is happening, Boost gauge , Knock link , Afr etc.
