Question Please help

Just purchased a second hand engine from Nippon spares in London.

Delivered to me today, as promised.

I've opened it up to find an engine with coilpacks that are attached to the heads with two bolts.

As far as I was aware all Imprezas with the coilpacks are single bolt, the two bolt version was only on the legacy.

Spoken to the guy (Adam) to confirm that he sent me a legacy engine instead of the 95 wrx engine he promised.

He reckons that another two engines that are with him at the moment have two bolt fixings, and another one that is in an impreza also has a two bolt fixing.

What I want to know is am I right, was it just the legacy's that had two bolt fixings for the coilpacks?? Or do i owe this guy an apology?

Thanks in advance

Mike

to my knowledge (and in my experience in re-building/racing/etc..........) only the early leggy turbo's had the 2bolt coil packs...............every impreza up to the change to the central coilpack around '97 had the single bolt coilpack..........

it may well have been removed from an impreza shell, but that just means that it has already had an exchange engine fitted...........
