Default Rear diff ratio

Hi,
I have a WRX STI RA 1995, and I need to know what ratio the rear diff is.
I am going to fit a gearbox with a 4 to1 ratio but I am not sure if the rear diff will be the same ratio.
Any info would be great.
Cheers,
Andy.

Most early RA's were 3.9:1 ratio. You'd need to tell me the TY number off the gearbox or chassis plate. 'Box is safer as it is going to be correct. There is a white label on the clutch housing close to the starter, it'll be TY752 Vb ???

Unfortunately my ratios list is at the office and l cannot confirm until Monday - will that do??

??? every early RA box i have had in bits has had a 4.11 diff in it.................

was always the normal "homologated" diff in grpN also, so would this not be the case??

David API,
The transmission number is TY752VB3EA.
I have sent you a email with the info to your work to see if you have one for me.

Cheers,
Andy.

Cheers Andy.
That is the one with the 3.9 ratio, as I suspected. Stockcar is correct; many others are 4.1, but that one is not.

I have replied to your email in longer format Andy.
