Question New clutches, are they supposed to smell a bit?!

Never had a new one before, and so wondered if the slight burnt smell i'm getting on a Helix Organic is normal during the running-in phase?

Also, the release point of the clutch is now a lot nearer to the floor, whereas i used to prefer the higher point of engagement on the old clutch. Is there any adjustment available? Cheers.

Maybe your crotch smells because you keep forgetting to wash the manmilk out of it after you've been to see Jim

You need some stilts, available on the NHS for people with your condition.

Yes mine smelt a lot too when I got it fitted, takes a few months to stop smelling so much but still does it on agressive starts.

There is a clutch adjustment bracket? at the bottom of the pedal but I do no know how to use it as I have never adjusted mine

Tel,
underneath the clutch pedal is a threaded bar, you need a 12mm spanner and a 6mm spanner, the 6mm spanner holds the bar in place while the 12 loosens the nut, you then twist the threaded bar (by rotating the 6mm spanner) to either extend or shorten the action (cant remember which is which), when your happy, hold the threaded bar with the 6mm spanner again and do up the nut with the 12mm spanner again.

again.
