Find someone with replacement flywheels in stock.

Is that supply and fit?

Not sure where you live, but have you tried Town End Garage? I live in the Midlands but traveled all the way up to the Lake District for them to do mine! Real good on price, good service and they did it in a day(Company very close to them can skim your flywheel if it needs it). Been there twice, for the clutch and a gear box rebuild!

Does that include the clutch?
Considering a decent clutch is about £180 at £300 there doin it for nothin..
We generally charge £400+vat..sound expensive to what you been quoted but we do quite a few in our area..Many people comment that they been qoute upto £1000..

Oh yea...it is wise to have the flywheel done while the box is out and make sure the gearbox to engine dowels get re fitted too..

Engine dowels get refitted?

They shouldnt be removed in the first place

Flywheel only needs to be 'done' if there is a problem (not flat/true/cracks etc)

We have had cars in that the engine dowels have fell out after havin the box out..this has caused clutch judder and "bluing" of the flywheel..
For the sake of £40 we always do the flywheel unless the customer asks us not too or is on a budget..
I think its just better to do it.

thats 35 an hour,8 hours + vat

then a place 30 miles quoted me £120 to fit it
reckons about 2.5 hours . . . .

good price FMS... however, i wouldnt take my car to you if there were no other garages on earth!

You stated that the engine to gearbox dowels would fall out.. these NEVER come out!
the you changed your mind and said that you meant the flywheel dowels... I have fitted poss 20+ subaru clutches without flywheel dowels, including my own car.

Then you would do the flywheel even if it didnt need it, unless the customer was on a budget?? ah... i see... so they cant afford £40 for a flywheel to be done but can afford to have the box taken out again as it is no good... Hmmmm

Sorry mate, i believe perhaps that you have not realised that people on here may know that you are talking ****

I got a clutch fitted by scoobyclinic not so long ago. They charged £375 inc VAT to supply and fit their uprated clutch. I supplied my own flywheel which they fitted free of charge. They also lent me a courtesy car free of charge so I nipped into town, had lunch and went to see a movie. On returning 4 hours later, my car was ready for me to drive away.

Highly recommended!

Yeah, it was a 250 mile round trip for me but their reputation is real good on this bb. The service I received was excellent also.

Rob,

Just saving up for a clutch...then will give you a shout once all is ready!

Which clutch would anyone here recommend, I was thinking AP Organic...not pushing more then 340bhp! How much shall i budget for a clutch?

Also Rob what if the flywheel needs skimming at the time of the change? Will there be a return visit? shall I save little further for a lightened flywheel? think API had then for £150...

Ofcourse on the other hand i do not mind a 2 visit up to ScoobyClinic..though i am not sure how there uprated clutch will compare to another one on the market...

Sam

Dunno what sort of power output I am running but the Scoobyclinic clutch is handling my MY 95 UK Saloon with the below mods fine:

TD05 @ ~1.3Bar
K&N Panel filter, removed resonator box and replaced with cold air feed, de-grilled MAF
MRT Inlet Plenum Pipe
Walbro Pump and FSE reg
PFR7B plugs
Revolution 3" decat DP and system
Scoobyclinic clutch and Fidanza 4.2KG flywheel
AVO TMIC
Apexi PFC mapped by Andy F

I also don't know what mods/ power you're running so it may not be suitable depending on your spec.
