Question URGENT HELP - Fitting SAMCO Intercooler hoses

Have I got the wrong hose or do I have to cut the OEM one & joint onto the SAMCO ? If I have to cut & joint, won't it just blow off as there's no flange ?

According to the Samco Website it's the right kit for your MY - TCS22 - http://www.samcosport.co.uk/samco.asp?make=subaru

At a guess I'd say don't cut it short and try getting some of the existing metal inside the hose (3-4" if possible) and then use a couple of jubilee clips to hold it in place.

It does look the same as the kit on the Samco site, it lists the UK kit as being the same as the STI. Doesn't the STI have an alloy pipe (presumably with a flange on it) which would make sense, but cutting the uK plastic pipe can't be right.
FK what the T is for (too techie for me), but it's on the original.

Edit: "aftermarket dump valve" most certainly not !!!!!!!!!

The T is for std dump valve.
The std pipe has to be cut and the samco pushed over, i normally use two jubilee clips on the samco which holds it.
The reason for cutting the O.E. pipe is because it is too expensive for samco to replicate the 3 bolt flange onto the IC.

make sure you get about 4" of the plastic pipe inside the samco.

Before you start, another option is to cut the pipe just before the last ring on the flexi bend.

Try this first:
cut back the plastic pipe so that you have one single ring left of the flexi joint, then try and push the UNCUT samco over it, IF it goes over it then cut the samco to suit and use a single jubilee.

Worst case if the samco wont go over the plastic pipe you can cut it back shorter and havent butchered the samco in the process.

I cut my original pipe leaving enough to pass the Samco over and secured with Jubilee's.

That's what I was thinking - get as much of the original pipe (I thought it was metal) up the Samco. That alone should stop it blowing off completely and some jubilee's should make it impossible.

Update: Hacked the pipe off with one bellow left & trimmed it to create a flange (what a great word) therefore uncut Samco finished just past the 90(overlaps by 4" to 5"), fastened with two jubilees it's holding fine at boost.
Cheers to all,

D
