Question Help Needed

Just got home with abit of a sick car. Problem unknown, got caught in traffic on the motorway doing 15-20mph in 2nd gear slowly building rev's to go upto 3rd gear, so I dipped the clutch and moved into 3rd gear and then went to come off the clutch slowly trying to make a smooth change and the car started judding along, so I quickly dipped the clutch again and the judder went away, so I started to come off the clutch again and the bloody same problem again, so I pulled off onto the hard shoulder.

The engine is running normal with no abnormal sounds, the gearbox is fine with no crunching or whinning sounds, nothing abnormal, the only thing that was abit different was the clutch pedal where it felt abit heavy, the fluid was at a normal level.

Sorry its abit long winded but I'm stumped, any idea's would be grate.

Cheers

Well I found this problem it's the driveshaft, which one I dont know.

When I found out which one, would I be able to get replacements from Subaru or will I need to find a specialist.

The car is a MY96 STI RA.

Try changing the clutch fluid...May have boiled it

Or crud on your flywheel due to heat

Why would the shaft have gone ????

Might be a perished diaphram check and see if the clutch peddle seems to be sitting lower and if you get your foot behind it and flick it bck up to norml height you need to replace it and the fluid too

As I had a new clutch and flywheel 4 months ago. I thought it couldn't be that, and then I spoke to my father who use to be a engineer and he suggested the driveshafts.

I'll check both of these idea's tomorrow, cheer guys.

well after looking abit more underneath the car, I found that 2 engines mounts had no nuts on them.

Could this cause the problem.

Would it cause damage to anything.

Also I haven't got the 2 nuts to fit back on, so could I get these from most DIY places.
