Default MY00 60k service schedule?

Does anyone have a definitive list of what's included in the above service if carried out by a Subaru main dealer (i.e. what is replaced, what is checked, what is lubricated etc).

I'd like to know what the "approximately £700 sir" quote covers!!!!

I know that the oil and filter, plugs and cambelt are changed but not sure what else.

Cheers,
Steve

I'll have a look in me book later. But the cambelt should have been done earlier shouldn't it? I think I insisted when I bought mine with about 35k on it that the drive belts were done?

700 sounds more than I was looking for. Can you imagine buying any sort of service when folk are that vague. Not really excusable is it. Don't forget to top up your screen wash and supply your own oil if you want to cut costs.

All fluids? So that's engine oil, diff oil, gearbox oil, cooling system and brake fluid?

What filters? Oil, air and fuel? Anything else?

I guess the majority of the cost is labour?

Mark - cambelt on a MY00 is 60k. 45k for older MY's though.

Mine hasn't done 60k but has reached the 60k service on the time basis of needing a service every 6 months

It is a good few hours labour, plus parts, IIRC the cambelt is about £110 on its own!

The MY00 has a slightly differnt service schedule to all the other classics with the cambelt being done at 60k/4 years as opposed to 45k/3 years.

The service also includes plugs as well.

I have an MY99 RB5 which has not long had its 60k service. It includes all the parts u have listed plus air filter and spark plugs. Everything else is inspected from brakes, suspension and steering to fuel lines, clutch and lights.

Mine cost £650 with included headlight protectors (£45) and a set of standard front pads (£90). My cam belt was changed at 45k so you will have to add that cost.

I haven't got my service book to hand, but have a look at SIDC site in the FAQ section under servicing. http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm#2.3

Hope this helps

Had my cambelt done on MY00 @ 41k (Better Safe Than Sorry)
Scoobyclinic charged £175 which took them a couple of hours they did excellent job cant fault 'em.

I think most people of here would recommend taking to a specialist rather than main dealer, better service & costs imo

Snap. My MY00 service book said 45k, but the dealer said 60k. So I got it done at 45k just in case. Thought that the cost would be low compared to the cambelt failing.

Went to a dealer, next time will go to specialist.

As mentioned mine cambelt was done last thursday in which I needed a tensioner replacing and the belt had just started rubbing

I too have an MY00 which had its belt done at 45K. Its just had its 60K done by a local specialist for much less than Subaru main dealer. Its actually only just past 54K.

One thing though, what about residual values? People don't like to buy if a car doesn't have full dealer history. I used the local specialist partly down to cost, partly down to recommendation by other welsh scoobynetters and partly by the fact that the specialist is half and hour away but the dealership is 2 hours plus away.

If I ever sell my car it will have a folder full of receipts and personal notes as to when things have been done. However, I guess I'll take the hit later when I can't sell the car for as much as a similar car but with dealer history.

best keep the bugger then!

700 quid

Id be looking around other dealers, that is overly expensive IMHO.
A 3 year service on an MY00 with cambelt and MOT cost me just over 400 quid, id be pretty worried if the gearbox/diff oils/spark plugs and filter cost 300

I have a 00MY classic and my service manual says Cambelt change at 45K.

Carstins my local dealer have quoted £477 for a 60K service, that's without the cambelt. They asked me when the cambelt had been changed.

Regards

As stated earlier service schedule was changed for My00 ie @ 60k for cambelt
However for peace of mind I would consider having this done cheaper than engine rebuild.

Regards £477 seems way too much, I was qouted £450 for a Full Service inc Cambelt @ Scoobyclinic. Cambelt service alone is only £175.

As regards a Dealer History or Specialist Id much prefer a Specialist history

Cheers Ashley

The service schedule was adjusted for the MY99 cars too. My Dealer altered the camblet change from 45K to 60K.

I never paid more than £500 for my 60K service.

Tainton your right, i was using old data from my 97my.
It's strange though, last year i P/E my 97MY the dealer only wanted to change the oil but i stated that it was due a cambelt service and wasn't willing to buy if it wasn't serviced properly.

They serviced it including cambelt, well that's what's written in the book.
