Type-R downpipe with two sensors
Hi,
My Type-R has a downpipe with two sensors in it. One is Lambda, the other looks like it is an EGT probe. Does anyone know where I can get a new probe and mounting boss to fit my new H&S downpipe?
I've heard of some people who have removed the EGT sensor all together, is this a good thing to do? It sounds odd given that the EGT is, on my car at least, part of the normal wiring loom and so on. What would be the result of removing the EGT sensor, I presume the ECU must be using it for something?!
thanks,
Matt

IT is a Cat on Fire sensor, it illuminates the COF light on your dash if the obvious happens. If you have a Decatted DP, no need for a Cat on fire sensor
Rob
p.s. it is also one of very few sensors on the car that doesnt give you a CEL if you unplug it.
