Well I managed to bust 3rd and forth gear on the sti. I have removed the gearbox and split it. I then was able to find the gears that I needed. My problem is that I can not remove some of the gears from the shaft. The main shaft I have removed the nut but the next gear will not move although I can see some sort of key way. On the second shaft I have again removed the nut and the first gear but the second gear will not come off. Has any one else split this shaft and taken these gears off? How do they come off are they pressed on or is there some magical way of removing the gears? I can not see any split pins or circlips.

I am considering taking to the machiene shop to have them pressured off but just wanted to see if any one on here had an experiance or knows anyone that may be able to help.

if it's the 6mt box then yes it will need pressing off but the nuts on the end are done up to a silly torque pm me if you want the table to work it out. also there are a couple of mods to do to this gearbox while it's apart.
