Pulsing/holding back
Sorry about the title but i have the following problem.
When accelerating hard and on full boost, the car holds back for a brief moment then is okay, then holds back then okay.
This happens repeatidly every second or so.
It can also happen when cold and driven below 3000 rpm.
If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

If it's not the boost solenoid, then its likely to be the MAF sensor.
Mine holds back, but the boost gauge doesn't appear to move. Hard to tell when you're keeping one eye on the road, the other on the rev counter and one on the boost gauge

Yeah, usually the boost hasn't built-up until 4000rpm and the speed is still building and a corners appearing rapidly 
Need to find a quiet, long and straight road to check these things out.
Going to the garage now to collect my new MAF, so we'll see if this fixes my hesitation problems.

thanks for the input.
I haven't fitted my boost guage, so my experience is based on the response/feel from the car.
I've tried to watch the rev counter but as you say Stefan, it's tricky.
I'll give it a go when i get home tonight.

These 2 items seem to be the main cause of problems but you may find its still the same when youve fitted them!
I had this problem with mine MY99 & tried both the MAF & the Solernoid & it didnt make a difference.
Check your oil level, if its on Max drop out 1/2 ltr, clean out the solernoid & the conecting pipes, do a ECU reset & give that a go!

It was the MAF sensor on my car.
Replaced it tonight, did an ECU reset and then forced the ECU into rapid learn mode. i.e. 4th gear, start @ 2,500rpm and build boost very slowly until peak at 3,800rpm. Then hold all the way to 5,800rpm.
