Default boost valve fitting

helom everyone im new to this forum so patience would be nice

i have just bought a manual boost valve off internet but before i fit what would be the advice the instructions came with it

1) one end goes to the wastegate the other end points points downwards (it says it must go to the turbo pipe) it has an adjustable nut to wind boost up and down

2) would i need to take the car to a rolling road to set it up the car ive got is a my99 uk spec model

3) the car is totally standard

any advise would be greatly appreciated

cheers

These things are pretty common (also known as an MBC (manual boost controler) or Dawes device). Do a search and read up before you fit it

One end goes to the wastegate actuator (as you say) and the other goes on the small pipe in the outlet from the turbo (before it gets to the intercooler).

I would advise you fit a boost gauge to monitor it at the very least!!!
Probably best to fit an AFR gauge (like a Lambda link) to make sure you have the fuel to support the boost you are upping it to. You could get it checked out on a rolling road, but you wouldn't be able to monitor it once set up.

It is easy to set it up yourself on the road, but as with any modifications, if you don't know what your doing get some who does to do it for you
Engines are very expensive when they go BANG!!!
