Question ABS Light Re-set???

Is it possible to do an ABS Control Unit re-set?????

One of my front discs was warped & My Pads were very worn, then due to a company Car - My 1999 WRX STi5 has been parked up for 3 Months..

This caused further rusting / squeaking / grinding etc. when I moved it at the weekend...

I Also notice that the ABS kicked in each time I braked, so I have had it in to my local tyre dealers who has replaced the discs & Pads.

...However Since this the ABS light is Lit Permanently.

The garage say I need to take it to Subaru to get the to do an ABS control Unit Re-set????

IMHO,they are talking crap.

They have either damaged the abs sensor,or there is filings from the old disc atached to the sensor.

First try to clean the sensor with brake cleaner,if unsuccesfull, then get a multimeter and check the reading across the two wires of the sensor.
You will find the plug around the inner flitch, just follow the wire from under the wheel arch.
You should get around 800 ohms (IIRC),a zero reading will tell you that its knackered.

Take it back and tell them you spent lots at a garage to get the abs reset and they tell you there is a problem with the sensor.
