just baught short shift for 96 U.K. turbo started to change it for my standard one and realised that s/shift had barrel with bearings in and on car gear selector has the barrel with bearings in obviously a prob is it just uk turbo with this prob and can any one point me in right direction for correct short shift for my car cheers

 

I take it that you got it off ebay? about £40.00 or so?

If so you need to take out the metal pin from the subaru gear selector and place that into the new shortshift selector.

I also used the plastic bushes but cut the smaller part off leaving just a plastic washer.
