600Bhp on standard rods and crank?
I went to a well known parts dealer/suplier on thurs and enquired about some forged pistons, rods an crank for a 2.5 block as i am considering going upto 600Bhp. I was informed that the standard rods and crank can take 600Bhp Surely this cant be right?

The crank should be fine, but 600bhp 0n the stock rods, and pistons, is optomistic, in the extreme.
IMHO, the stock EJ257 block isn't up to 600bhp/ XXXftlbs., reliably.
The liners are VERY thin, and I doubt they would take the pressures.
Mark.
