Unhappy Induction kit - fitting problem

Managed to over-tighten one of the screws connecting the maf housing to the mushroom on the HKS RS. Result is that the screw no longer secures as it tight as it should. So I'm a little worried that the join isn't good. Will I get away with a bead of silicone around the join?

Also, does this join need to be air tight to avoid letting crap in? Reason I ask is cus even when all 4 screws were good, I could see a little light through the join.

Thanks in advance.

I did exacty the same thing, but I managed to pull the captive nut/thread from the back of the mushroom thingy.

But I just pressed it back hard with some pliers [spelling?] and that seemed to have worked for me.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try. Still might use some silicone on it though as I'm not keen on the small gap between the two parts..
