Default Crankshaft Pulley Torque figure

About to do the cam belt on a MY97 RA and can't find any torque values for the crank pulley or the 2 bolts that hold the belt tensioner in place.
Anyone get these handy.

Thanks in advance.

Crank pulley bolt is 98+or-5 Nm.. I used 99..

Tensioner bolts are 25+or-2Nm..

Johhny,

There is nothing wrong, I hope. However you should have some tension on the belt around the cams to ensure they are timed correctly. They will rarely time in perfect on a stock engine due to minor differences in all sorts of areas.

How are you doing it out of interest?

Assuming you have a new belt with the timing marks on it, I just lined up the pulleys to the belt and then hooked it over the last bottom right idler last.. all pulleys moved into place.. checked all still timed.. then turned the engine over by hand a few times checking the timing marks on the pulleys remained in the right place.. the belt moves slowly around so the timing marks on the belt don't remain correct one you turn it over.. which panicked me to start with.

The other way to do it is to count the teeth on the belt between pulleys whcih is outlined in the manual in the link I posted to them above in the Engine.pdf.

As Paul says.. how are you trying to do it?

As to the leggy blonde I don't think the wife would be too juffed..

I was lining up all the pulleys and crank, then put the belt over the top tensioner pulley last which seemed to move all the pulleys, think i may have the belt off slightly which would be where i was going wrong.

iirc... I put it around the drivers side band (right bank) and then around the crank then over the other bank.. ensuring all the lose belt was where the tensioner is..
then slot over the last idler on the bottom right.. as long as belt and marks match then worry not..

I think the manual dsescribes it using the bottom left pulley as the last one but the thread on the block on mine was a little difficult to get back in so I was hessitant to remove and insert it again. They describe fitting the belt and then fitting that idler.. I think.
