Sticky 1st and 2nd gear
After going out for a swift drive earlier I had problems with the gears sticking in 1st and 2nd when parked up. Maybe the sync? Drove it an hour later and its fine.
Only other syptoms were crunching 4th gear a couple of times.
Anything to worry about? Also tried to check the oil level which is a pain to read as its so clear.

I had a hard time getting mine into 1st gear when I bought it off the previous owner.
I had the gearoil changed to Silkolene Syntran.
It made a world of difference to the shift quality and it wasnt difficult to engage 1st from cold.
Hope this helps.

Mine does the same thing, no matter what oil I use.... I suspect the change mechanism. And will tage the thing apart to mesure them out. It got this way at a drag-run, must have pulled to hard from first to second. VERY hard when cold. Trying another oil again though, trying some Automatic Oil with som abcon in it.

Have been driving around and has happened since. I guess it was something to do with driving it too hard. When I say the gears were sticky I mean they were v reluctant to come out of gear, as if 'stuck'.
As with many of you, mine is always a bit of a fiddle to get into 1st and reverse anyway since I brought it.
Never mind, the problem seems to have gone now. The gearbox oil does look a little on the high side though so I will drain some out next weekend.

Hmm. I hought the problem had gone but it still re-occurs after a hard drive. I think there's too much gearbox oil in there which I will get around to sorting on the weekend. Could it possibly by the sync knackered as it 'sticks' in gear (1st and 2nd)?
