I believe those are now obsolete !

www.sparkplugs.co.uk do NGK Iridium BKR8EIX which should do the same (note heat rating 8 !).

Give the chaps at sparkplugs a call and enquire..... they are very freindly and helpfull.

Don't buy Iridiums though, even heat grade eight electrodes are too small to cope with your uprated engine.

Those plugs are current, its the cheaper 7235-8's that are no longer available.

I recently spoke to Rob at

www.sparkplugs.co.uk

He said the NGK-R7435-8's are available but are around £30.00 per plug. Ouch!!!!

Probably worth it as the 7Bs have a short life on a stressed engine.

How stressed is "Stressed" John? Not just a filter & exhaust change I guess?

More like remap and turbo / intercooler / injectors etc ??

7B's are ok up to about 420 ish, on the Sti5 they only last 3000 - 5000 miles then they "go off", they don't fall apart or anything. The 7245-8's are a good plug both on and off boost however don't start and stop the engine cold or they will foul up a bit, aside from that you wouldn't notice under normal driving conditions but they prove there worth under heavy load conditions. I use 8's in both cars as a matter of course now as they do resist pre-ignition more.

Bob,

I contacted spark-plugs.co.uk and they said..............

Good Afternoon Mr Milson,

Sincerest apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Denso IK01-24 is the Race spec Iridium Power plug suitable for your vehicle and is equivalent to an NGK heat range 8. This part is currently in stock and is priced at £24.92 + Vat per plug and can be purchased directly from page ... http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/p...park_plugs.htm

I hope this helps, if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank for your enquiry.

I take it these Denso ones are not up for the job, can you confirm this please as I need to get some better plugs in time for my remap on the 17/07.

Cheers

Dom.
