Default Difference between sti and wrx exhaust system.

This is for 2001 or newer models.

Apart from the backbox, is the exhaust system on a UK spec WRX STI any different to that on the standard WRX ?

If it is, what is different ?
Will it fit onto a standard WRX ?
Will it increase power and how ?

When i eventually purchase a 2001 or newer wrx in the next few months i want to change the exhaust sytem. I dont really want to de-cat as ive heard i will need to get a re-map done so that DET doesnt occur.
I just want to fit a performance sytem and not worry about DET occuring.

All info will be good.

Thanks
Marc.

I have an sti7 miltek system on my wrx... the only difference I found is the downpipe has a slightly different mounting as the sti has a 6 speed box. As far as the standard system is concerned I believe you will not find any difference in power. Best off to go with something like a downpipe back system. This is what I originally did and it gave a nice burble and some of those extra torques people go on about
