Default Is it an Sti 6 or PPP ecu? Help?

Is it possible to confuse the two if both from MY99-00. Is there anyway to tell other than the codes printed on them, as presume both will say Sti on pink sticker etc and will be in the same metal case with the 3 legs. Want to make sure I don't buy the wrong one.

Cheers

Martin

The PPP one will have a Prodrive label on it (I have this) - I assume that the STi one won't.

I have seen other PPP ecu but they didn't have a Prodrive label on. Are the ECU connectors the same for MY99-00 for import and UK cars?

Cheers

Nelson, does it have a Prodrive sticker on it aswell as Sti?

Also does any one know how to tell difference between 98 and 99 ecu? Is it that 98 has 3 plugs versus 4 for the 99?

Cheers all

STI 6 won't run IIRC as the Cam and Crank Sensors are swapped.

STI 6 ECU's are probably a bit thin on the ground due to the low numbers of them in the UK

I have a 'PPP' ecu on my my00. there is nothing to identify it as 'PPP'. as far as i know, they take a standard 'STI' ecu (pink label) and reprogram the eprom. 99/00 have 4 plugs (grey) - 98 3 plugs (yellow).
my pink label has - STI 1001056110. A18-000 DIX 9X15..

I saw a PPP ecu for sale on ebay this week - said it was for a 99, but i thought it was a 98 = yellow plugs!!??

The STI ECU will have either AF040 or AF041 on it.

Cheers,

George.

Cheers George,

It has 10010 56010 A18-000 DV8 8X12 so by your reckoning its definitely not import Sti.

Thanks

That's right. This is a PPP ECU.
