Smile Which ecu upgrade/change keeps the most standard safety features?

...i don't want to spend mega-bucks but want a decent power increase ( )without sacrificing or by-passing any(if possible)built in safety features of the standard Subaru ecu.I'm looking so spend maybe £350-450 but this can be raised a bit if its a MUCH better ecu option. Thanks
[cars a my98 uk car with full de-cat,otherwise standard]
Edited to say that i'll be getting a secs monitor at about the same time so i can keep an eye on whats happening so no probs on that front...

If you intend using the secs then you need to retain the original JECS ECU on your car.
This limits your upgrade options somewhat on a MY98 !

An aftermarket ECU fitted and mapped is a few hunderd pounds above your preferred price range.

Is SECS avaiable for pre99 cars then?? Last i heard it wasn't..... so no SECS or ECUTek for 98 cars.

So if you want an new ecu you will be looking at least £700 plus mapping. Other than that you can still have your ecu remapped at PE... about £700ish all in for that.

Well **** me backwards with a large stick. I take it the £700 all in is if you shop with you Andy . Excellent price.... just wish the FC software and lead was a bit cheaper .
