Default Which Turbo ...... Help Please

Hello all

I am currently running a MY93 WRX with following mods

HKS FMIC
HKS 3" Decat system
HKS powerflow air intake
HKS boost Gauge
VF34 Turbo -New
Walbro uprated fuel pump
Dawes Device at 1.1bar
Std Injectors...
Z4 ECU
4 pot fr calipers with grovved/vented discs (black diamond) with Tarox Pads
Steel brake hoses
17" kahn 5 spokes with F1's

Giving 285 BHP and 250LB torque

I may be considering a bigger set of injectors and ecu upgrade to further engine power or I may stay where I am.

After fitting the VF34 Turbo I have found it to be quite laggy.

I have a TD05 90 degree entry sitting in box in garage...

What I am wondering is what kind of turbo the VF34 is in characteristics and how does it compare to the TD05 in spool up max power etc.

If I wanted to stay same power but get much better spool up what turbo should I go for.. VF28 VF30?????

Cheers

Rob

Default

VF28 less lag yes but not VF30
VF30 (plain bearing)= VF34(suppse to have better spool up)

I m getting 1.1bar at 3100-3200rpm with VF34 with good spool up!

Is 285 BHP at the wheels or at the flywheel??

If it is 285BHP at the flywheel there is something very wrong with set up??

Anything under 550cc injectors will be small for the VF34(unless u have rising fuel pressure regulator)?
