mileage v mods
Folks, having spent the last 70000 miles slowly upgrading my lowly 98MY UK Turbo from standard to 281bhp/262lbs, I'm now at an impass...
Should I continue to modify it, and if so, what's next - (I think it's probably a big leap) or should I call it a day because of the mileage (105000)?
It seems to be running fine, I do 700 miles a week, it uses no oil between services (which I adhere to religiously), no rad water and shows no signs of smoke. Its a little noisy when its cold, which I think is piston slap, but its fine once warm....
I've noticed that its a little breathless towards the top end, but I think that its the TD04 trailing off..
I am getting a couple of green lights on my knocklink at 5k+, so would consider a I/C upgrade to try to drive the charge temps down -
If any mods required a remap, I'd have to consider putting them on together, as I can't justify a remap every 2 months - assuming that I can get it re-mapped to cope using the PE kit.
I realise that this is a bit 'how long is string', but I know theres a lot of experience out there and I'd like to tap it again
Current mods: (performance only)
Knocklink, AFR, boost gauge, samco I/C hoses, K+N panel, airbox restrictor removed, I/C tilt, full TSL-decat, (D/P lagged), PE engineering 'daughter board' re-map, 4 pot brakes, braided hoses, TSL disks, Eibachs, rear bushes, strutbrace, quickshift.
