Default Coilpacks - Issues

I have a 1993 WRX and it has the occasional misfire.

So I phoned up a breakers yard and asked them to send the appropiate coilpack.

As you probably guessed I have recieved the single coilpack and not the 4 individual HT leads with each coilpack on them.

Is it easy to convert them if I put MY99 HT leads onto it? What about wiring at all?

Thanks!

You can wire in a MY97+ or MY99+ double coil pack thing with relative ease.

You have to remember that these cars use "wasted spark" - each coil sparks 2 cylinders each time - one just doesn't have fuel in it...

All you need to do is connect (from memory, so please check with a wiring diagram!!!) wires 1 and 3 from the ignitor block to one input to the coil and 2 and 4 to the other, then put the HT leads on the appropriate plugs I shall leave the specifics of exactly what goes where to you... (because I'm lazy )

I know Tone Loc (amongst others) has tried this when he had coilpack issues and found it quite successful, although he's since returned to using coilpacks IIRC.
