Can you give us a little more information, like whether it's a UK car or an import, what model year it is, whether or not the Scorpion exhaust contains catalysts or not, what fuel you're using etc. etc.?

Sounds a little like overboost, which you shouldn't be getting on a standard-ish car, which is why we need to know more.

If you have a digital camera it'd also be worth taking and posting up a few pictures of the turbo area under the bonnet so we can see if there's a manual boost controller or similar installed.
